Step into timeless luxury with the Hermès Volynka Notebook Cover, a rare masterpiece crafted for the discerning collector.
As part of Hermès’ dedication to preserving heritage, this exceptional piece combines history, rarity, and artistry.

Once favored by aristocrats and luxury makers, Russia leather was a coveted material in Imperial Russia.
With its cross-hatched grain, warm red-brown hue, and intoxicating aroma of tobacco, wood, and spices, it adorned Tsarist trunks, cavalry boots, and high-society accessories.
However, after the Russian Revolution, the secrets of its unique tanning process faded into obscurity.

Remarkably, bundles of Russia leather were recovered from a 1786 shipwreck centuries later.
Even after two centuries underwater, the inner rolls remained astonishingly preserved.
This resilience elevated its legendary status and inspired Hermès to acquire portions in the 1990s as archaeological treasures.

In 2012, Hermès partnered with Élise Blouet, a French leather conservator-restorer, and Andrew Parr of J. & J.F. Baker, England’s last oak bark tannery, to revive the lost art of Volynka tanning.
As a result, they succeeded in ethically and sustainably recreating this extraordinary material, maintaining its distinctive scent and unmatched durability.

This limited-edition Hermès Volynka Notebook Cover offers more than beauty.
Since it is naturally waterproof and rot-proof, it provides practical luxury that endures.
Presented in the signature orange Hermès box with ribbon, it invites collectors to own a piece of history reborn.
